Songwriting - Rooted in Wyoming

Scott Robinson grew up in the rugged landscapes of Douglas, Wyoming, where endless horizons and wild rivers shaped his early years. Now rooted in Story, he spends his days fishing mountain streams, climbing rocky crags, and doing his best to keep pace with his adventurous wife and two spirited boys.

Scott’s original songs are a heartfelt reflection of the landscapes and experiences that have shaped him. His lyrics are rich with vivid imagery, an authentic connection to nature, and portrayals of unconventional western heroes—all woven together with just the right touch of humor. With resonant baritone vocals that echo somewhere between the timeless depth of Johnny Cash and the modern vibrance of Paul Cauthen, Scott breathes fresh life into country, blues, and americana traditions. His music invites listeners on a journey through Wyoming’s open roads and hidden trails, delivering stories as expansive and genuine as the land itself.

From competing every year at the Wyoming Singer Songwriter Competition, to performing solo at favorite local hangouts like Story's Wagonbox Inn and The LeDoux Steakhout in Bighorn, to playing racous shows at iconic Wyoming music festivals like WhatFest and Nowoodstock with his band The Piney Islanders, Scott is a fixture in the local music scene of Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains.
